Cubism 24/11/10 + Evaluation

In the last lesson I general continued what I had done in the previous lesson. I continued to draw the shading and I think it looks alright. I then started to collage some red pieces of paper onto the picture and one of these create a big empty space, something which I was not happy with. I think decided I could try to fade this out, but when this didn't work either I decided to experiment with the picture. In the end I cut out whole pieces of my picture and pasted what was left on another piece of A3 paper. I am happy I did this, as it looked better afterwards. The only negative aspect with this was that I used allot of time and now I have to do some art homework.
Here is a picture of how my final analytic drawing looks.

Overall I am happy with the picture as I think it is quite original if you think about the cutting, and I also like the relationship between the different colors. Like the Picasso's 'Bread and fruit dish on a table' I talked about further down the blog, they both are analytical about objects that are for everyday use. Both of the drawings have clear contours, even though my drawing is a little less controlled and I  have much more empty space in in the background. This creates a different feeling about the picture. I also have used allot less colors, and this also take the two pictures quite long apart. Another difference between the two pictures is that my picture focuses allot more on the change in the direction of how the objects are drawn, while Picasso's has used drawn the picture at different angles.

People agreed with what I said above and they said the picture was quite dull. I agree with this and thought this was the major problem and I would like to change this for next time by having multiple colors.
