Time 29/11/12 Extended + Evaluation

Due to me having to go to an 'unexpected trip' to Oslo for USA visas, I could not go to Art class and finish the expected changes. This is the reason for why I will do the evaluation now.
PS: Due to the Christmas play we won't have any more art lessons this term :-(.

Evaluation

What was good?

I believe the best aspect with the artwork was its meaning. When taken in consideration this really adds to the meaning of this clock. I also believe the artwork was well made and is of adequate quality, and won't be destroyed after two seconds. The relation between music and visual arts is also quite interesting and an idea that I want to carry forward.

What was bad?

The worst part with the artwork was the level of neatness: the lines where often not straight and the width of the lines often changed. This gives an 'unserious' look to the painting, something which was not intentional. Another problem was that there were too many lines in the first set of lines. This makes the piece wrong and gives a 'super amateur' look, and it also makes the music piece wrong. 

What would you improve?

For improving the neatness level I would first change the material I used: balsawood. The problem was that with this tree type you could easily carve into it and create an uneven surface. This contributed to this problem. I would for next time use a type of wood which was known for being good for painting. I would also add a red rim (I did intend this, but due to the USA trip I couldn't), since this would add a third colour and add another dimension to the shield aspect.

Time 29/11/12

On Thursday was supposed to be our last day to work on our artwork, but due to many people not being finished, the project will run into another lesson. In the lesson I worked quickly and with ease, and everything happened as planned. My major goal today was to fix the clock into the 'shield'. This took time, especially finding a drill bit with the appropriate size. In the end we had to go to the tech room to find one.

I also had to carve out the backside of the project to get the clock to fit. In the end of the lesson I fixed a method to get the clock to hang from a nail.

I think that everything went well during today’s lesson. I am especially happy with the fact that I got the clock to work. I also want to explain why I chose not to have numbers to represent time; this is because I wanted to enforce the idea of music representing time. In the modern day society there is a lot of time stress and time is always accurate. This can often result negatively on people. This was the reason for why I chose to not have numbers representing time.

In the following lesson I will hopefully create a thin frame around the artwork. This will be done to get the artwork to get more of a shield feeling, as well as compensating the red color of the needle on the clock. As it stands today it stands out from the black and white.

Time 1, 15, 22/11/12

I am really sorry for not writing before, so I will instead make one entry for the last three lessons. First I will explain the unit, where the major goal was to create a clock which represents or have aspects which relates to time within it. I chose to create one representing music, since music has been present throughout times. In the 20s people listened to Jazz and now people listen do dubstep, something representing that tie\mes change. There are also different music epochs. In my artwork I wanted to portray the song 'The final countdown' because it portraits the aspects shown above.

During the first lesson I did not do much, but I glued pieces of balsa wood together to make the backboard of my artwork. I used glue and other balsa wood pieces to glue it together. I then painted the front side white which would be the background colour of my artwork. I can't really say anything more than the results were okay.

In the next lesson I finally started to create my artwork. In the background of the artwork I would have the notes for the final countdown. I used ages to manage to create the notes and did one of the biggest mistakes: one of my set of lines had six and not five! This was a big mistake. I also decided to use ink and not paint for the notes. This took most of the lesson.

In the previous lesson I decided to form my artwork as a shield, to represent the power of time. I used knives, saw and sandpaper to form the shape. The results were quite good. When I finished with this I drew the last notes. The results were quite good, but for next time I would improve my quality of note drawing. In the next lesson I will do the last details.

Symbolic Self Portrait 28-09-12 + Evaluation

Yesterday was officially our last day to work on our painting, and what a hectic day it was. I started the lesson by painting the t-shirt. I chose to paint it in an orangey yellow, something that went very well with the rest of the picture. It was not meant to be symbolic, but when I look back i can clearly see that it is the same colours as the Angolan national shirt. This is symbolises me as I have lived in Angola for several years. When this was done I went over to paint the eyes and mouth. The results were okay, but the colours (especially for the mouth) where slightly off. I wanted to do something about it, but due to time constraints this was not possible =( . In the last of the minutes I painted a few minor details, as well as painting white dots on the 'seigmann' in order to get a sparkly feel to it. The results overall were good, even if there were several things I would have liked to changed. This will however be explained in the evaluation section.

Evaluation

The following section will explain and evaluate my work. It will explain how it links to Picasso (artist that I looked at during this unit), the good aspects, the bad aspects and the aspects I would like to improve for next time.

How did the painting link to your chosen artist?

There are several ways in how thispainting is linked to Pablo Piccaso. The most obvious is the boldness and the characteristics getting shown throughout the picture. Like Piccaso I tried to make my markant features to stand out, especially on the shadowing. This has been both a succsess and a failure (explained in respective sections). I have also tried to add my markant feutures, which I think I good at; this was seen when Katharina and Adrian said the face realy looked like me.

What was succsesfull?

I think the resemblance and my personality coming through were the best aspects in this painting. Like stated in the previous paragraphs, the shaddowing created a near resemblance to my face. The painting was also very accurate and had all of my main feutures in a correct fasion. My personality coming through was also positive, due to the 'seigmann' being smooth and clear. I think the 'seigmann' was a good idea since it overall represents me (happy, smiley and active). I also like the colourfullnes.

What was unsuccsesfull?

My major concern with the painting was the nose and the shadwing around it. To sum the nose up, it was not well done with shadowing at the wrong places, downgrading the artwork as a whole. With more time I would have changed a few of the colours (the purple of the background could have been darker and my lips greyer).

What would I like to improve for next time?

 For the next time I would like to do something similar, except but more weight on the use of color. I would also use another technique when creating the nose, due to the result in the artwork bellow :-( . If possible I could have added a few more hidden symbols around the artpiece. There are two other aspects I would change, both of the mbeing comment from class members. The first one i that i would have liked to remove the white background areas, since this attracts the viewer, something which I do not want the background to do. The seccond aspect comes from a Mirre comment, where she stated that she thinks the picture was hard to paint and shadow, due to the lighting of the picture. This is completely true and a better picture could have made my 'unsuccsesfull' aspects less obvious.

When this is said, compared with the factor of time, I am allround happy with the result and would rate the artwork a 7.5/10.

Symbolic Self Portrait 13-09-12

In todays lesson I continued with what I did  in the previous. I set myself a goal which was the be finish with the seigmann and the background (the big spaces), so that I can focus on the face in the next lesson. This goal was reached since I managed to finish both goals.

In the begginin I started with the seigmann, but after further thinking I started with the background before finishing the 'seigmann', so that I could compare the colours with the background. When this was done there was one major problem, the background purple was much lighter than what I intended, so I added blue to even it up. Overall I am happy with the progress so far. The background colour style is slightly similar to picassos, quite bold but still has a nice and representaive aspect aboutit. I was also happy with the 'seigmann', especially the different shades of red which makes it look well made...

For the next lesson I will have to start creating the face, something which will probably be the hardest task yet. Hopefully it will be good.

Symbolic Self Portrait 06-09-12

In Today's lesson I continued to work on my sketch, as well as creating a carbon copy of my psinting onto the canvas. In the beggining of the lesson I continued with my sketch, especially with the eye and the mouth. I think this went very well, especially the aspects of expressing my personality. This was one of the aspects I would try to use from Picassos drawings that I did in one of the previous entries. Overall I was really happy with the sketch... The quality was good.

The seccond part of the lesson was to copy the sketch onto the canvas. using carbon copying. The technique is bassed on coping the outlines of drawings onto a canvas or other sheet of paper. Ths is done by dracing over the outlines of the drawing onto the other sheet of paper, with the original drawing having carbon on the back. The copy of the drawing was very accurate and good, and I was very happy with the result.

During the last part of the lesson I decided to start painting the seigmann. The results were good, especially colour wise. In the next lessons I will have to continue with my painting and continue to work in the standards that I have done so far. One aspect I will have to be carefull about is the quality of my painting; this is something I have been very bad at before. Bellow you have a picture of the partially finsihed seigmann.

Symbolic Self Portrait 29-08-12

In the previous art lesson I came slightly to class and therefore I was ablo to do slightly less than what I wanted to do. In this lesson I created a grid for for my picture, as well as creating the outline of my face behind the 'seigmann'. This went very well for quite some time, until I had to draw some of the major features of my face (eyes,  nose and mouth). This took allot of time, as I did not manage to create them accurately. By the end of the lesson i had managed to create the nose (with help from Mr. Roman) and one eye. The nose ended looking okay. I was in the begining happy with the eye, but with further looks I can  clearly see that it is too small. This is something I will have to change the previous lesson.

So far I think the drawing is going well, even if I will have to speed up if I don't want to be stressed by time factors. I think it will become an okay artwork.

Symbolic Self Portrait 23-08-12

During Thursday's lesson I started to create the final product, by using the grid method and copying the outlines of a seigmann onto an A3 sheet of paper. I think the outlines became quite good, and in the following lesson I will want to add my face to the artwork. I was originally going to add the face on the seigmann itself, but Mr. Roman said I should challenge myself with trying to create something more challenging. I then decided (with inspiration from Mr. Roman) that I would try to create my face in the background of the seigmann. There are several benefits with this, the first one being that it will be more recognizable and will fall better into the goal of this project. The purpose of this unit was to create an accurate, but symbolic self portrait of you. This is quite hard if you create a small portrait of the head (like my plan was to do on the seigman).

When this is said I believe the artowork is going well, even if I could have worked faster during this Thursday lesson. Like I stated, I will start adding my face to the artwork in the next lesson, so I had to find an appropriate picture.

So far, so good. :-)

Symbolic Self Portrait 16-08-12

First lesson of the year and we are already thrown into a new unit; this time an extension of last year's icon unit. The new unit is symbolic self portrait and will be composed of a painting of you with imagery or symbolism linked to it. In this first lesson we looked at what the unit would be about (obviously), different known artists and examples, as well as some of the previous year’s works. This entry will however be more about my ideas, as well as an artist/painting I will discuss.

Ideas so far

I have two major ideas so far which I will discuss here.

The first is a picture of a 'seigman' with my face on it playing football with different signs which float around which I associate myself with. The aspect I really like about this idea is that I can really associate myself to the picture and it is 100% my idea. The negative aspect is that it can be hard to create a realistic painting of this...

The second idea is an abstract painting with me present in a playing card. This is a good idea, but the idea is not mine: we a similar example on the slideshow Mr. Roman showed us in class. Over the next week I will have to decide on the final project, but I must say that I think I prefer the 'seigmann'. I could also do different versions of the two ideas.

Inspirational artist - Pablo Picasso

Here I will discuss Picassos and one of his self portraits. I specifically chose this artist and this painting because it is painted and made in such a way that you can get information even if the self portrait in the first view looks very ordinary. On the picture you can see a self portrait of him; the lines are bold and very straight, something which might implement his character or just his style of painting. he has played on his bold characteristics: big nose, wide open eyes etc. The background colour is orange/red and might show his anger towards a certain subject.

What do I like?

The aspect I really like with this artwork is that it is quite simplistic, but you still get a certain mood with the picture and a sense of Picasso's character. The painting is also quite accurate and you could easily see of who the picture is. This is an aspect that is very important to this unit

What don't I like?

Seen from a symbolic self portrait view there is one major thing that I do not like. This is that there are almost no symbols hidden in the picture. This could have given the painting an extra dimension. It would also give some extra meaning to the picture.

What aspects will I try to use in my own work?

There are several aspects which I will try to take into my own work. The first link I will try to make is the resemblance between the painting and him. Like Picasso, I will also try to play with the dominant traits in the persons face. The use of colour is also quite inspirational and something I will try to use in my drawing. When this is said I will try to make my painting a little less rough and with more symbols.

Painting 7-6-12 + Evaluation

This was the last lesson we had to work on our project... I added a few of the darker/cooler areas to my drawing and changes some small details. I am really happy with the results, if you think that I only had three lessons! In this lesson the major thing I changed was the background colour which I lightened up after comments from fellow students with white... I am happy with the background colour results. There is actually not much more to say about todays work, since I was quite quickly finished with what I had to do. This means that I could have done more detail in the previous stages... :-(

Evaluation

Here is an evaluation of my painting. It includes the weaknesses and strengths of the painting, as well as what I could improove. It also includes a section where I write what other people had to say about my painting. Overall I must say that I am happy with the result; it has been a good unit in many ways.

Strengths

I think that the major strength of the painting is its feeling. You can easily recognize the objects and I think there is a generally nice flow to the picture. The purpose of the painting was to make something quite accurate, and this I have certainly done. I have also a good amount of tone in several objects, something which again relates to the accuracy. I also think that I have used the correct painting techniques.

Weaknesses

There are a few weaknesses with my drawing, but there is one major one; the neatness ccould have been improoved. This would have increased how the audience could interact with the picture. When this is said, we did not have too much time to create the painting.


The seccond weakness is the shadow of the froots. This was not done properly and is something that could be greatly improoved. This was also done in quite a good pace, but I could clearly have done a better job!

Improovements

There are not so many things that I would have liked to change with the same time amount, but with slightly more time I would have liked to have added a great amount of detail to tone and shadowoing. This would have made the painting much stronger and memorable.



Before my final adjustments I got a comment that there were some colours that were much stronger than others. I agreed with this and made a few adjustments. If you look at the milk carton you can get a good example of how I tried to change this with white paint. This is not a weakness in itself, but it is something that I would like to think more about in future units.

Others Opinion

People generally though that the painting was quite good. They liked the detail and said that the colours were generally matching. When this is said, a few of the students said that the pear, background, milk carton, and the banana had to strong colours compared to the rest of the painting. I agreed that the background and the milk carton were too bright, but I did not agree with the rest. This is why I only lightened parts of the painting before it was due.

PPPS: Overall I am happy with the results. I would give myself an 8/10 on my abilities.

Painting 31-5-12

Today I continued with my work. Since I was at the dentist on the previous lesson, I had allot to catch on uppon. The first things I did were to continue with the lighter and warmer colours before I started with the darker colours. I also did the thin aspects before the bold aspects (since this is a prinicple of painting). The painting lookes slightly more messy than expeted, buth this is also largely due to me having to catch up on what the others had done. I continued to do the painting techniques that we learned in class. I am especially happy with how the man is going on as it is starting to look quite three dimensional! I also started to some of the darker colours today, even if I will do most of this next lesson... I am really happy with how the painting is going on :-)

Painting 17-5-12

Hello blogg, this will be the last unit this school year. Today we learned what this new unit would be; painting. I was actually quite glad when I heard this news since it was something I want to improove upon. In the beggining of the lesson we learned what was important in painting, light to soft and etc.

Since we do not have too much time we will directly start on the the final assesment piece which will be a piece of still life. First we had to lightly draw what we saw on the still life. I used quite allot of time on this and I think this was quite succsesfull. I only got time to paint some parts of the still life in lightish yellow. Overall I was really happy with my work this lesson and I have big expectations to this unit... Hope it will be succsessfull!

PS:  We starting with painting a light yellow colour since these colours are harder to add on the cooler colours.

Masks 19-4-12 + Evaluation

Today I did the last changes in my mask. This means that I added some blanco, and cut the outside of the mask to make it neater. I also added a thread so I can have the mask on. When this was done, we discussed our masks and this took most of both lessons. Here are the comments I received:

Sofie: Looks angry and has a nice boldness. The eyebrows could have been rounder, but as a whole I like it. The mask looks slightly sad and can be for somebody that wants to look tougher.
Marta has big ears.
Marta: As above, and I like the nose. Could have had a shade.
Anisha: I like the boldnes and think it is good. I do not think the mask represents you however.
Morgan: Looks like a wrestler mask.
Andreas: I like the beard, but I also think it should have a mouth.

Evaluation

What was good?

The aspect I really like about the mask is the nose. This is because it looks quite realistic, as well as having a nice form. This is quite important since it is the first thing you look at and since it is 3D you get a first nice impression of the mask. The colours are also very nice and I think they fit well together. This gives a nice touch to the mask and give you a positive feeling to the mask. These are the positive aspects.

PS: I also liked the beard.

What was bad?

There are many things with the mask that I though was bad with the mask, but there was one major thing that realy struck me: THE NEATNESS! This aspect was horrible both in the mask surface and in the painting. In some cases the painting was so bad that it could have been painted by someone in grade one. Both of these aspects really destroy the niceness of the mask. I was really disappointed with this.

What would I improve?

The major aspect I would improve was the painting, due to the aspects explained above. I would also have liked to have a mouth, as this would have made it more realistic. 

What do I think the mask represents?

The purpose of the mask was to create a mask that represents myself. In the investigation I explained what the different colours, but here the I explain what the other parts of the mask is supposed to represent.

• The mask as a whole: is supposed to look quite smart, since I like to see myself as quite smart. 
• The eyebrows: the eyebrows are supposed to look quite angry and nice at the same time.
• The nose: was made to make it 3D.
• The white stripes: made to show the difference between the different emotions from the colours.

What would you give it out of ten?

I would give it a 3/10.

Masks 12-4-12

On Thursday I continued my work with the mask. I first decided to paint the nose and the eyebrows, before I added outline of the different colours white white and bear. To say the truth, I think this project was realy bad and that my mask does not look good at all!

The nose and the eyebrows were painted with paint, but the whole maks does still look very messy. With the outlines, it does not look any neater (mayby even aslightly worse). The outline was done with paint and whiteout and it was not succsesfull. In the end of the lesson I decided to spray the mask with some colours and this was the only succsesfull aspect of the maks that I managed to do in these lessons. So far my mask is worth 3/10, I am quite disapointed with my mask, especially if you compare it to the previous units...

PPS: We only had one hour to create our mask in this lesson since we had to go to a concert.

Masks 29-3-12

In the previous lesson there were two major things I did. The first thing I changed was that I glued on my eyebrows which I had created in the previous lesson. I believe they became quite good, although there are clearly a few problems that I occurred when creating them. The biggest one was that MYP D had taken the glue guns and it was therefore very difficult to glue them down. I used several techniques, including taping, gluing with PVA glue, but none of them worked very well. In the end I used a mixture of PVA and tape. Hopefully, the eyebrows will still be there in the next lesson! When this is said, the forms of the actual eyebrow seem to be quite good.

The second thing I did during this lesson was to do the first layer with pain. I used the colours that were present in the design and the paint type I used was acrylic paint. I think the painting was okay, although the mask is still quite rough with the paint. I could not paint the eyebrows, because there was tape and glue (like mentioned above). I think this unit will be good, although there is clearly still allot of work to be done.

I am really curious of how the paint and the eyebrows will look in the next lesson... I hope it will look good! :-)

Masks 22-3-12

Today I continued to work on my mask. I started with creating a nose to my mask and this went reasonably well. I used paper and a sponge in order to create the shape I wanted. In the end I believe the nose became quite good, but it took much too long to create. I started creating the eyebrows, but I did not finish in time so I will have to continue in the remaining lessons. I also smoothened out some parts of my mask. I also decided that I will not create ears, but that the ears will be the ones of the wearer. I am not happy of how I worked during the lesson since everything took too much time. This will be my goal in the next lesson.

Masks 15-3-12

Today I started the creation of the mask. With chicken wire I made a print of my face in it and then I started to add papier-maché. This took me both lessons since I did several layers of papier-maché. There was onee major problem which I had to face during these lessons and this was the the papier-maché almost fell of my chicken wire. Inorder to solve this I had to redo some parts. This was very annoying, but I think the mask will be good in the end. I also had to go to the math room to get some 'stolen' paint and this also took some time. In the end of the lesson I quickly painted the mask white so the paint in the next lesson would stand more out. With this you will also not see the newspaper from the papier-maché.

Masks 1-3-12 and 8-3-12

The new unit is masks and the whole purpose is to create a masks. I started trying to find a type of mask I could use as my inspiration, but this took allot of time, since a lot of them were either very difficult or quite boring. I then came over the Chinese opera masks which I found quite nice, as well as interesting. These were the two major reasons why  I decided to use the Chinese opera masks. 


Another part of the project was to find some information about my chosen masks and that I would have to do some investigation. Bellow you can see my investigation.When this was done I decided to start doing some designs for my masks. The designs will have to express something and this is going to be expressed through  the forms and the colours of the mask. What the colours represent can be seen further down the research. I also had to do some designs and this can be seen in the design section.



Research
Where do the masks come from and its uses?
The Chinese opera mask come from China (duuh) and they were used in theatres in China. There are different versions of the Chinese opera and the masks in the different parts of China, even if the Beijing Opera Masks are the most famous ones. It is also the Beijing Opera Masks I will focus the most on since they are the most widespread. The Beijing Opera is also known as Jingju. The first Chinese opera started in the Tang dynasty when the emperor Xuangsong organised plays for himself. This is often regarded as the start for the Chinease opera, but it was not before 13th century the use took off. The acting is based on allusion: gestures, footwork, and other body movements express such actions as riding a horse, rowing a boat, or opening a door. Dialogue is also very restricted, but due to the strong percussion music there was still an oral aspect to it. In the beginning of the 20th century the popularity rose to new heights again and they are still popular to this day.
There mask are purely for acting and there are no religious aspects to it. This is one of the aspects which makes the mask unique. 


What do the masks mean and what are the different designs?
In Chinese opera there are not many character that crop up and up again and this reflects in the masks since there are no characters in the masks. The only characters that are reflected are Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Tu Xingsu, Lian Po, Xia Houdun, Cao Cao and Zhen Hun. The colors of the maks reflects the character's personality. Beneath you can see what Wikipedia says about the meanings of the different colours:

• White: Sinister, evil, crafty, treacherous, and suspicious. Anyone wearing a white mask is usually the villain.
• Green: Impulsive, violent, no self restraint or self control.
• Red: Brave, loyal.
• Black: Rough, fierce, or impartial.
• Yellow: Ambitious, fierce, cool-headed.
• Blue: Steadfast, someone who is loyal and sticks to one side no matter what.

Above you can see a picture of Cao Cao. Like seen from the colours and the form he is often a thief or a person you need to be suspicious to.

What are the masks made out of?
Chinese Masks are made up of numerous materials like stones and metals, leather and cloth, paper and grass and more. They are made out of everything they could find.

 
Design
I also had to have a design which I would base my project on. I wanted still to have a quite traditional mask and therefore I used colours to express my mask. The mask had to express how you wanted to be seen by other people and this was one of the major focuses I had. This was done through the colours explained in the research. I think the design is generally good, although I would have liked to have at least one extra aspect which describes my personality.  If you look at the mouth of the mask you can see that it is smilling and this was specifically done inorder to mach how I want to be viewed by otherers: smiling and happy. The forms shown on the mask are there to follow how the tradisional Chinese opera mask design.

Pop Art 9/2/12 + Evaluation

Today was our final deadline on our product, so I will also add the evaluation of my product. During this lesson I started by arranging my earth made out of clay as somebody had destroyed it. I also started to make it smoother by using a knife and cutting out the irregularities. I then painted the whole thing blue. While I waited it to dry I cut out the pieces of green paper which would represent the continents on my earth. The paint dried quite quickly so I did not have to wait too long. I glued on the continents with the glue guns. One of the problems here was that the continents were not correctly placed in relation to each other. This made the product look less professional. The continents also looked a little bumpy, although I do not think this was a problem with the product. After this I did some new justifications with the blue paint, as well as a few changes with the bin... Overall I think it was a good lesson.

Evaluation
What was good?
There was a few aspects that were good with my product. One of this was the trash bin, as well as the trash bin. This shows clearly what my artwork represents. I also like my message that I am trying to give across to the viewer (that we need to stop to waste our world or it will become a big junk of trash). I think that this is very important as it gives a purpose for the artwork (not only looking nice as I think that my product is not very pleasing for the eyes to look at). Like I mentioned the trash can is quite good as it look a little like a prison, but also has the characteristics of a trash can. Another good aspect is that I think that everyone can relate to it and that the message speaks for itself: we are destroying the earth.
What was bad?
The major aspect that I think that was bad was the structure of the earth itself. This is because it wasn't very round and gives an impression that it is more of a draft artwork. When this is said it can also be interpreted that the earth is damaged. This is the major  problem, and also the major aspect I would change for next time.

I would also change the trash bin message, as some people said they though it looked more like a recycle logo. I could also have some other trash with it.
What would you like to improve for next time?
For next time there is major aspect I would have liked to change, and this is how my earth looked. In order to this I would have liked to be more careful when I created it. It would also help allot if I had used more of my time on the earth as it was in the end quite rushed. I also think that it is due to me rushing and the several problems that I encountered the reason for why my earth looked like it did. Like I said, I would also change the logo.
How did the artwork relate to Pop Art?
There are several ways how this artwork relate to pop art. The first aspect was my idea that we are 'over consuming the world'. With this I meant that we need to be more careful with pollution and our resources, so that the future for the next generations will be better. This is the major aspect that was presented in the Artwork.

In my artwork I also played around with sizes of the earth, especially when the artwork was like thrown it into the bin. This is clearly something that would not happen in real life! This is the second way how it relates. It also have a few distinguished colours,  which is also an aspect allot of pop artist used.

How would the artwork be accessed?
This artwork would be accessed mass scale in the streets or an open artwork gallery. This is because I would want to get the message to be sent across to as many people as possible. This is one of the Pop Art aspects that it needs to be mass produced or seen. For my project I would like to display it in an available space in school.

The accessibility is also very good. This is because the message is so clear and simply that everyone understands it without thinking too much. This is very important and is one of the important aspects of Pop art.

What did people think about it?
Mirre: I likes that that the earth is easily recognisable. I also think the trash can is good, although i would like a real trash can. The trash can sign however makes me feel like recycle and that takes away from the message. There could have been real trash in the can. Nice and simple.

Andreas: It looks trashy and good, due to the earth looking realistic.

Sofie: It is well carried out. Good to see the countries and easy to see the meaning of the artwork. The trash can looks however like a recycling sign. It could have been better if the trash can would look more like a 'real' trash can. It could possibly have been placed where a trash can would have been.

Martha: There is a good meaning. Could have made more of a connection to where you live.

June: The globe could have been a little bigger, but apart from that it good. The chicken wire could also have had a rim to make it more realistic and neat.

Mr Roman: I agree that the message is very good, although there could have been a rim on the trash can.The accessibility is good.

Morgan: The message is good and everyone can easily relate to it. Good :-).

Overall I am happy with my artwork, although with a little more time the results could have been much better... I give my artwork and 7.5/10.
